We're all creative beings. Men's creative minds made them reach the top of the highest mountain in the world, and put the flag on the Moon, fly to outer space. Our creativity has created inventions that changed human history and culture such as computers and Internet and cell phone, tv, x-ray machines and a long list of other innovations. This is the end result of human creativity.


Suffice it to say that creativity produces works of art lead a huge role in our everyday lives. We can see them at almost every corner, each space or walls around us. Has been used art as a means of Visual communication and expression that dates back to prehistoric times. Art talks about authenticity, individuality, creative process, graphical material, colors, textures, spontaneity, danger, alternatives, and fantasy. But art is not only for creative minds or famous painters. It is also a healthy way to express how we feel and deal with our emotions. The art was central to the healing practices of many cultures on a lot of human history. Over time, art has developed as an instrument of psychological diagnosis and treatment called art therapy.

According to the American society for art therapy, art therapy is a technique that uses media art, photographs and creative art process to help the patient deal with fears and conflicts. Art therapy is based on knowledge of human development and psychological theories that are implemented in a full range of assessment and treatment models including tutorials, dynamic knowledge via profile, And other therapeutic means to reconcile the emotional conflicts. It is also used as a tool to promote self awareness, develop social skills, behavior management, problem solving, reduce anxiety, and help the realistic orientation and increasing self esteem.

Can be traced back to the early beginnings of modern art therapy 1900s when psychologists asked first if there is a relationship between artworks and diseases of patients. Meanwhile, educators began in observing how free and spontaneous artwork for children is a form of personal stories that convey a meaningful messages emotionally and symbolically. These two areas of interest that eventually led to the emergence of a distinct discipline of art therapy in the 1930s. During the second half of the twentieth century, it became more organized and professional therapists develop graduate programs, professional associations, and journals.

And use a variety of techniques in art therapy. These include methods or professional fields: music therapy, dance therapy, psychodrama, and film treatment. Other methods include verbal therapy, recreational therapy, therapy, and treatment.
